About Nana

Nana Korolev is a former competitive swimmer from Russia who swam in competitions from city to city in heavily chlorinated pools. Her hair especially became dry, brittle and full of split ends. Along her travels Nana began collecting local folk recipes to treat and revitalize her very own chemically battered hair. Putting her hair to the test she found three effective essential organic ingredients: nettle, white oak, and birch that would become the core of NANA Essence products.

After the birth of her second child in Canada, Nana experienced unwanted hair lose so quickly she returned to the hair remedy ritual from earlier pool-damaged hair days. Finally in 2004 while collaborating with of an independent lab and taking into account that environment and chemicals play a part in hair and scalp damage a breakthrough occured and NANA Essence was discovered.
